Was dieses Rezept für Sie leistet.
A smoothie bowl thick enough to eat with a spoon instead of running to the bottom of the bowl: frozen banana and berries blended with Greek yogurt and just a splash of liquid, then topped. 18g protein.

Less liquid than a smoothie, that is the whole difference
A smoothie bowl is just a very thick smoothie. Use only a few spoons of liquid, added slowly, so the base stays scoopable and holds the toppings on its surface rather than swallowing them. If it pours, you have added too much liquid.
Frozen fruit is essential, not optional
The thick, soft-serve texture comes entirely from frozen fruit. Frozen banana gives creaminess and frozen berries give body and colour. Fresh fruit plus ice will not get you there, it just makes a thin, icy blend. Use fruit straight from the freezer.
Blend on low with a tamper, and be patient
A thick base is hard on a blender. Blend on low, use the tamper to push the fruit into the blades, and add liquid a spoon at a time only if it truly will not move. Rushing it with more liquid is what turns a bowl into a drink.
Greek yogurt for protein and tang
Half a cup of Greek yogurt adds creaminess, tang and around ten grams of protein, so the bowl actually holds you until lunch rather than leaving you hungry an hour later. It also helps thicken the base.
Top for texture, not just looks
The point of a bowl over a smoothie is the contrast of textures. Add crunch with granola and seeds, freshness with sliced fruit, and a little richness with nut butter or coconut. Arrange them on the surface just before eating so nothing sinks or sogs.
Eat it straight away
A smoothie bowl melts, so it is a make-and-eat dish, not a make-ahead one. Have your toppings ready before you blend, pour into a chilled bowl, top and eat. Ten minutes total from freezer to spoon.

Häufige Fragen
- How do I get a smoothie bowl thick?
- Use plenty of frozen fruit and as little liquid as you can, adding it a spoon at a time. Blend on low with a tamper to push the fruit down rather than adding more liquid to get it moving. Greek yogurt and a spoon of nut butter also help thicken the base.
- Why did mine turn out runny?
- Too much liquid, or not enough frozen fruit. The fix is more frozen banana and berries and only a splash of milk. If you have already blended it too thin, stir in a spoon of chia seeds and let it sit a few minutes to thicken, or add more frozen fruit and blend again.
- Can I make it dairy-free?
- Yes. Use a thick coconut or soy Greek-style yogurt and plant milk. The frozen fruit and thick plant yogurt still give the scoopable soft-serve texture, and soy yogurt keeps the protein higher.
- Is a smoothie bowl actually healthy?
- It can be, if you keep the base fruit-and-yogurt led and go easy on sweet toppings. The traps are large portions, sweetened yogurt, and piling on granola and honey, which turn it into a sugar-heavy dessert. This version leans on frozen fruit and plain Greek yogurt with a controlled amount of granola.
