Breakfast is where most people lose the protein day, a bowl of cereal and toast is a 6g start. Here are ten chef-tested high-protein breakfasts that clear 25g, split into make-ahead and five-minute builds, each with the real protein number. Part of the high-protein recipes hub; front-load protein here and the rest of the day's target gets easy.

  1. 01

    High-protein breakfast bowl, 32g

The anchor of the whole hub: a base of eggs or Greek yogurt built up with cottage cheese, seeds, and a starch, engineered to clear 30g in one bowl with five minutes of active work. This is the default we point people to first. The high-protein breakfast bowl page has the build-your-own ratio so you can hit the number with what's in the fridge.

  2. 02

    Egg-white frittata, 28g per slice

A sheet-pan frittata of egg whites, a few whole eggs for richness, spinach, and feta, baked Sunday and cut into a week of breakfasts. Each slice lands near 28g and reheats in 90 seconds. The one technique: don't overbake, pull it while the center still has a slight wobble. The egg-white frittata is the make-ahead workhorse.

  3. 03

Spinach-feta egg bites, 18g for two

Muffin-tin egg bites with spinach and feta, the homemade version of the coffee-shop ones for a fraction of the price. Two bites land around 18g; three push past 25g. Grease the tin hard or they stick. They keep five days and freeze well. The spinach-feta egg bites recipe has the bake temp that keeps them custardy.

  4. 04

Cottage cheese pancakes, 30g per stack

Blended cottage cheese, eggs, and oats make a fluffy pancake that clears 30g without a powder scoop. This is the sit-down weekend breakfast that still hits the protein floor. Blend the batter completely smooth. See the cottage cheese pancakes for the ratio, and the full cottage cheese recipes collection for the rest of the curd-based lineup.

  5. 05

    Greek yogurt power bowl, 27g

Plain whole-milk Greek yogurt as the base, topped with berries, walnuts, a spoon of cottage cheese, and seeds, no cooking, five minutes, 27g. Plain is the move; the flavored tubs trade protein for sugar. The greek yogurt power bowl page has the topping combinations that keep it from getting boring across a week.

  6. 06

    Overnight oats, built right, 25g

Standard overnight oats are a fiber win and a protein miss. Built with Greek yogurt and a scoop of cottage cheese stirred into the oats, they clear 25g and stay grab-and-go. The fix is adding the dairy protein, not relying on oats and milk alone. The overnight oats recipe shows the high-protein version specifically.

  7. 07

    High-protein breakfast burrito, 35g

Eggs, black beans, and a lean protein wrapped and griddled, then batch-wrapped and frozen for the week. One burrito clears 35g and reheats from frozen in a couple of minutes. The trick is letting the filling cool before wrapping so the tortilla doesn't go soggy. The high-protein breakfast burrito page has the freezer-batch method.

  8. 08

    Cottage cheese bagels, 18g each

Two-ingredient-dough bagels made with blended cottage cheese, about 18g of protein each, several times a standard bagel. Top with eggs and you've got a 30g handheld breakfast. The cottage cheese bagels recipe has the shaping and bake.

  9. 09

    Baked oatmeal, 15g per square

A tray of baked oatmeal with eggs, milk, and nuts folded in, cut into squares for the week, about 15g a square, more with a yogurt side. Honest placement: this is the lowest-protein pick here, so it earns its spot on fiber, make-ahead ease, and family appeal rather than protein alone. The baked oatmeal recipe has the add-ins that push the number up.

  10. 10

    Chia pudding, three ways, 14g

Chia seeds set overnight in milk make a no-cook pudding; built on Greek yogurt or with a cottage cheese layer it reaches the mid-teens in protein with strong fiber and omega-3s. Like the baked oatmeal, it's a lower-protein pick that earns its place on convenience and gut benefits. The chia pudding three ways page has the protein-boosted versions.
